Marie T. Quercetti June 25, 1927 – November 5, 2018 Marie T. Quercetti passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Monday November 5th, 2018 while at home in Media, PA, surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children.Marie was born in West Philadelphia to Pasquale and Josephine Pacinelli. Raised alongside her two younger brothers, Louis and Pasquale Jr., she developed an affinity for the local sports teams and professional tennis. Marie graduated from Overbrook High School in 1946 and in her early years kept accounting records for her family’s furniture store (Haverford Furniture) in January 22nd, 1950 Marie married Nicholas F. Quercetti Sr., also of West Philadelphia, and their love led to five children; Patricia (the late Robert), Linda (Bill), Nicholas Jr. (Patty), Bobbie “Barbara” (the late John), and Robert (Diane). MomMom, as she would become lovingly known as, was the matriarch to her children, their spouses, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Renowned for her hospitality, MomMom will be remembered for hosting the greatest and largest family parties. At her Christmas parties, dozens of children each year received gifts she herself handpicked and wrapped. MomMom was even sure to bring Santa to give out the gifts. During each hot summer day, everyone was welcome to enjoy her pool and her cooking, bringing down a tray of lunch, cookies and milkshakes for all visitors. MomMom had a way of making everyone feel cared for and loved. Her lasagna would put a smile on your face even after an Eagles loss. MomMom was the glue that held the entire family together through good times and bad. As a sister, spouse, mother and grandmother, MomMom was a role model to each of us. She set the standard on how to raise a family. In place of saying I love you, MomMom would say “When I cook for you, that’s my way of saying ‘I love you.’” MomMom, we will always love you.
