Marie Pongonis, age 90, formerly of Norwalk, died August 29, 2010 at home in Conway,SC. Born in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Stephanie (Romach) Sedelnick. Marie graduated valedictorian from St. Joseph Hospital Nursing School in Stamford, where she continued her career in Nursing. She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Maternity at Norwalk Hospital. She was past president of Catholic Nurses Assoc., and a member of the Women’s Guild at St.
Predeceased by her husband Anthony J. Pongonis Sr., and her siblings; Carl, Gerald and Nicholas Sedelnick, Anastasia Czaplinski, Ann Kovatch and Katherine Misorek. Marie is survived by her loving children; Anthony Joseph Pongonis Jr. and his wife Geraldine, Kathleen Moulton and her husband David, and Christine Pongonis, 2 cherished grandchildren; Kimberly and Kara, 5 great-grandchildren; Crystal, Brittany, Derek, Kaitlin and Piper, and a great- great-grandchild, Shayla.
