Marie D. “Mimi” Irwin (nee Drangula) died Wednesday June 4, 2014 at her daughter’s residence in Burlington Township at the age of 78. Born in Roebling, Mrs. Irwin was a longtime resident of Burlington Twp. Marie began her working career for CF&I in Roebling, then as a ward clerk for Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly. She then began a career for the NJ Division of Motor Vehicles which spanned over 30 years until her retirement. Marie was a member of the St. Paul’s Young at Heart Club, the St. Paul’s Altar Rosary Society and the Burlington Twp., Senior Citizen’s Club. She had a love of sports, particularly football. She was an avid fan of the NY Giants and the University of New Haven Chargers. However her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Marie was predeceased by her parents Mary and Andrew (Bung) Drangula, grandson John Irwin, IV and her brother Andrew (Jingy) Drangula. She is survived by her husband, John H. Irwin, Jr., with whom she recently celebrated her 57th wedding anniversary over the Memorial Day weekend, her children and their spouses; John H, III and Shirley Irwin, Colleen and John Butler and Paul Irwin, her grandchildren; John H.,V, Kristen, Nicole and Paul, Jr. She is also survived by her brother Charles Drangula, sister Annette Prior and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am, Tuesday June 10, 2014 in St. Paul R.C. Church E. Union St., Burlington.
