Marie K. Thatcher, 95, of Jacksonville, departed this earthly life on Friday, August 10, 2018. She was born November 4, 1922, in Eureka Springs, AR, the daughter of Milton Wright and Melany Gunther Masters.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Bill) West of Jacksonville; a grandson, William (Kim) West Jr. of Virginia; a granddaughter, Christina (Frank) Marshall of Jacksonville; five great-grandchildren, Chuck Mitchell of Jacksonville, Katrina (Erik) Matth of Valley City, ND, and Autumn West, Amber (Tyler) Holsman, and Brandon West, all of Jacksonville; and four brothers, Gene of Eureka Springs, AR, Ray (Glenna) of Great Falls, MT, Walter (Rita) of Ft. Myers, FL, and Robert (Sherry) of Cincinnati, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lee Nance; a great-grandson, Daniel Bangert; and three brothers, Ivan (surviving wife Dorothy of Berryville, AR), Bryce, and Adin (surviving wife June of Yuma, AZ).
Marie was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and spent time, after reaching the age of 65, on several mission trips, including trips to India, Africa, and Ukraine. She had also made five trips to Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina.
