Marie Imelda Peters Amadon, 96, died peacefully at home on October 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.  Imelda, born November 27, 1917, was born in Madisonville, Louisiana, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Peters (Rosa Oulliber).  She lived in New Orleans for many years, and she was the beloved wife of the late Harold Owen Amadon for 42 happy years.  Imelda is survived by her four children: Michael Amadon (Polly), Melanie Amadon (Minh Andvru), Beth Amadon (Malcolm LaGarde) and Harold Amadon (Sherry); 6 grandchildren whom she loved very much: Louis Spera, Olivia Amadon (Bianca Cornejo Villacorta), Margot Spera (Michael Guasco), John Amadon (Jeanne) Chantelle Myers (Aaron Billiot), and Richard Myers (Tonya).   She loved and enjoyed her great-grandchildren Isabel and Saela  Myers,  Brennan and Austin Matherne, and her many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her three brothers Lawrence, Edward and George Peters, and she missed her dear brothers very much.   Imelda lived a long and healthy life, and she enjoyed good food and wine, and lively conversation.  Imelda had a curious and agile mind, loved to travel and read, and was keenly interested in current events.   Imelda was a great New Orleans cook and she played the piano well into her 90s.  She was unfailingly patient with the family dogs and cats who always seemed to find her lap.
