Marie Gloria Pelletier, 87, of Newington, died May 26, 2015. Born in St. John, ME., on January 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Diana (Berube) and Dennis Pelletier. She was the 11th child out of 14 children. She graduated from the University of Maine at Ft. Kent, ME. Marie retired as a supervisor from the American Red Cross in Farmington with over 30 years of service. She was very devoted to her family. Marie never forgot a birthday or special celebration. She was a daily communicant of St. Mary Church, where she served as a lector for many years. She volunteered on many committees, fundraisers and raffles, often the first to spearhead the cause. She was driven by the importance of her faith with strong work ethics. She was always up-to-date on current events, and loved the UConn Huskies Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, giving some of the players her handmade paperweights. She loved to cook, garden, fish, go to the beach, and she enjoyed her trips to the casino. She was a friend to all and helped many in need. She was pre-deceased by sisters Essie Nadeau, Florence Fongemie, Dula Fisher, Edna Deprey, Thelma McGinn, Priscilla Watson, Wilda Kirk and Joan Jarosz; brothers Medley Pelletier, Gilman Pelletier, Norman Pelletier, Claude Pelletier and Gerald Pelletier. She also leaves three devoted nieces and a nephew who were devoted caregivers in her final years, Joyce Hornkohl of Kensington, Adrina Bazzoni of Newington, Janice Grimaldi of Wethersfield, and David Kirk of West Hartford. She also leaves many, many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her very much. She was also Godmother to John Jarosz, Kari Ratajczak and Dawn Clavette (deceased).
