Marie Frances Prikasky Age 104 of Owosso passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County.A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am Monday, July 23, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes, Owosso Chapel on Sunday from 2pm to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 7pm.Marie was born March 5, 1914 in Owosso, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Pekar) Dvorak.She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Z.C.B.J., Central Michigan Polka Association and the Polka Hall of Fame. Marie looked forward to trips to the Casino, playing cards and putting puzzles together. Through the years she enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and baking. Most of all she loved to Polka Dance.She married Robert Prikasky at St. Paul Catholic Church on April 6, 1940; he predeceased her on July 17, 1982.Marie was the Kitchen Manager at the ZCBJ Hall from 1953 until she retired in 2014 at the age of 100.Marie is survived by her daughter Janet Sterba; son Robert (Edna) Prikasky; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nephew Richard (Maxine) Eldridge; niece Joann (Cliff) Porter; good friend Joane McCall; other loving family and friends.She was predeceased by her husband Robert; daughter Rosemary; sister Lillian; brother Joseph; son-in-law John Sterba.The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the caregivers that have taken care of Marie over the years.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
