Marie Yvonne Daries Carrero, 86 years young, was lovingly taken into the Kingdom of God, to share eternal life with Jesus, the Saints, and family and friends on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Her caring and supportive daughters were at her bedside. She will be remembered, as the devoted and loving wife of Dennis Ortiz Carrero, for 65 years, who preceded her in death, in January 2015; an outstanding and caring mother of Elizabeth Ann Charlotte Carrero, Ann Marie Carrero, Nancy Carrero Vinci (husband Donald). Marie Yvonne was the attentive and happy Grandmother of Christine Elizabeth Vinci and Kimberly Ann Vinci.
She was the youngest child of Irene Jibaja Daries and Jean Marie Daries. Marie Yvonne is preceded in death by her three brothers, Henry, Eugene, and Leon Daries, and sister, Marianne Marguerite Ducote.
Marie Yvonne, was a graduate of Joseph Cohn High School, of NO. She was employed, by Tulane University Accounting Department, for 14 years. She enjoyed many interests throughout her life, gardening, painting, interior design, bridge. She loved life. For several years, Marie Yvonne was an active member of the NO Lake Forest Garden Club, holding various positions of office. Also a member of AARP Chapter 897, and the “Keenagers”.
Marie Yvonne will be missed as a supportive and loving wife, mother, and friend.
