Marie “Scrubby” Claire Skrobiszewski Dudley passed away on July 30, 2017. Scrubby was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and grew up on her parent’s farm nearby in Bowers Hill. She attended DePaul School of Nursing in Norfolk, Virgina. After nursing school she became a registered nurse and worked in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1963 she met and married her husband, Ret. LCDR, James Robert Dudley, Jr.“Bob”. She and Bob ultimately settled in Cocoa Beach in 1978 and were married for 53 years. In Cocoa Beach, Scrubby worked as a nurse for Doctors Joseph Von Thron and Marling Abel and then Health First until she retired in 1999.
