Marie Carpenter, age 81, of Milford, beloved wife to the late William H. Carpenter, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Milford Hospital.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Susie Cacavali Caruso, she was born in New Haven on January 1, 1930. Marie was a School Nurse in the Milford, caring for students at Simon Lake, St. Mary, St. Gabriel and St. Ann Schools. She enjoyed playing bingo, tending to her yard and gardening, knitting and crocheting. Marie was a member of the Milford Senior Center and enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Bill.
She is survived by two sons William H. Carpenter III and his wife Sheryl of Milford and Anthony “Chip” Carpenter and his wife Diane Thompson of Sandy Hook. Marie is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Michael Suppe and Casey and Ali Carpenter. Being an only child, she leaves behind several brothers and sisters-in-laws from the Hines family.
