Marie Hernandez, age 77 of England, Arkansas passed away Wednesday October 7, 2020 at Baptist Spring Hill Medical Center. She was born January 2, 1943 in Bonner Springs, Kansas to the late Frank Ray and Anna Belle “Lola” Hernandez. Marie attended Bonner Spring High School. She is preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Petty and daughter Carla Hernandez; grandson, Andrew Taylor; her siblings, Flossie Johnson, Peter Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Sylvester “Foots” Hernandez, Roscoe “Pete” Hernandez and Kenneth Russell Hernandez; sister in-law Gloria Hernandez. Marie retired in 1989 from nursing and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren who she referred to as her “Kids”, she loved play board games and was known to cheat.
Marie is survived by four children, Quinton Petty of Kansas City, Kansas, Clarissa Murray, Cordella Hernandez both of Kansas City, Missouri and Shelene Jefferson of England, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Harold Pinks, Shanee` Pinks, Maurice Newton, Aaron Clark, Isiah Petty, Shawleesah Pittman, James Avant and Kimberly Petty. and a host great grandchildren and family and friends.
