MARIE C. BROWN
Marie C. Brown, 91, of Twin Falls passed away Sunday morning, December 1, 2013 at the Twin Falls Care Center.
Marie was born on May 18, 1922 in Chesterfield, Idaho the daughter of Neils and Ruth Christensen. She was one of 12 children. She grew up and attended schools in Chesterfield. On September 7, 1940 she married John A. Brown. Together they raised 10 children, Ruth, Rosemary, Dorie, Linda, Shirley, Susan, Julie, Johnny, Anna Marie and William.
Marie worked at Idaho Frozen Foods for over 24 years; retiring in 1980 to care for her son who was battling cancer. That was the type of woman Marie was; always caring for others and spreading her encouraging love. She spent many years mothering many children beyond her own with open arms.
Marie enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Making many items to hand down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her children, Rosemary (Gary) Lavine; Dorie (Ken) Shaffer; Linda (Joe) Martin; Shirley (Jose) Brizuela; Julie (Rich) Bonde; her two sisters, Corleen Winkley and Emma Jean Hatch as well as her two brothers, Mads Christensen and Carl John Christensen. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1987; three daughters, Ruth Hayes, Susan Greenfield and Anna Marie Brown and two sons, Johnny Brown and William Brown; three brothers and 5 sisters. She will be deeply missed as our Matriarch of our family. She will be deeply missed by her dear friend and companion, Roy Giku.
