Burnes, Marie Hayden Burns, wife of the late John L. Burns, entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2005 after a long illness. Mrs. Burns was born in Bridgeport and was a Trumbull resident for 42 years before moving to Monroe in 1990.She was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and Bryant College. She was a Deputy Tax Assessor for the Town of Trumbull for many years. Mrs. Burns was a former member of many local organizations including the Jr. Guild of Bpt., past president and treasurer for the Confraternity of the Rosary of St. Theresaa(TM)s Church, the Trumbull Democratic Womena(TM)s Club, the Womena(TM)s Auxilary of the Long Hill Fire Department, the Bridgeport Council of Catholic Women, past treasurer of the League of St. Josepha(TM)s Manor, the Rosary Altar Society of St. Stephena(TM)s Church, the Trumbull Womena(TM)s Club and the Monroe Senior Citizens. In addition to her husband, John L. Burns, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Hayden and her sister, Magdalene Hayden. Survivors include four sons, John P. Burns of Sandy Hook, Thomas H. and his wife, Sonia Burns of Bpt., Kevin L. and his wife, Agnes Burns of Newtown, and Patrick M. and his wife, Regina, of Trumbull, one daughter, Karen Petros and her fiancAC., Peter Burke of FL, one sister, Olive H. Schindler of Trumbull, ten grandchildren, Sean, Brian, Michael, John, and Daniel Burns, Dustin Petros Vain, Jeffrey Petros, Lorin Petros, and Sara Burns-Rivera, and Elisabeth Burns-Rivera and several nieces and nephews.
