Mrs. Marie Baldwin May, age 94, of Valley, AL passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley.
Mrs. May is survived by her husband, Harold Grant May, Sr. with whom she would have celebrated her 75th wedding anniversary in June; her daughter, Carole Diane May; her son; Harold Grant May, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Louise Baldwin Coleman and Hazel Baldwin O’Neal; and her brother; William Henry Baldwin.
Mrs. May was born on November 10, 1921 in Randolph County, AL to the late Rufus Andrew Baldwin and Lola Mickle Baldwin, She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut and over the years had worked in the Fairfax Towel Dept., at the George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital, and as a dietitian at the Shawmut Baptist Daycare. She was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, and cook. She enjoyed cooking for others. She had been a breast cancer survivor since 1980.
