Marie B. Herlihy, 85, of Toms River, NJ, and Highland Beach, FL has passed into Heaven. Marie was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, and lived in Nutley, then Sea Girt, before moving to Toms River 15 years ago.
She spent winters in Highland Beach, Fla. Marie was a parishioner of Faith Lutheran Church in Lavallette, and an active member in her communities at Greenbrier Woodlands, and Sea Gate, where she was an avid bridge player, golfer, and sang and acted in community theater. Marie played lead and supporting roles in the theater with the Pine Tree Players, of Spring Lake, and the Nutley Theater troupe. She was the bookkeeper for her family business, Alfred Turdo & Sons Steel, for more than 30 years. She was a force of nature, and her energy, passion, and deep love for her family and friends have left an indelible legacy.
Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband Timothy Herlihy; her brothers Alfred and Louis and her sisters Margie and Sally.
Surviving is her son Timothy Herlihy of Avon by the Sea, NJ; her daughters Kathy Cavallo and her husband Anthony of Sea Girt, NJ and Margarie Herlihy-Young and her husband Kevin of Lavallette, NJ; her grandchildren Christian, Amanda, Elizabeth, Isabella, Keely and Marra, and her great-granddaughter, Angelina.
