Marie Ann Peterson, age 93, of Fishers, formerly of DeMotte, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospice.
She was born May 28, 1924 in Chicago Heights, IL to Phillip and Alma (Nelson) Russo, both deceased. Marie graduated from Bloom Township School in Chicago Heights, IL, Class of 1943. She married Chester Moberg on October 23, 1949 and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1972. She later married Arthur Peterson on June 19, 1976 in DeMotte, IN. He also preceded her in death on May 9, 1990. Marie owned and managed Zip Foods in Crown Point, IN and worked for 5 years at the Farm Bureau Co-op of Lake County. She was a former member of the American Reformed Church of DeMotte and attended Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Fishers, IN. Marie was involved with clubs: Ruth Circle of Church, Friends of the Library, and Kings Daughters Bible Study. She also volunteered at Christ the Savior Church and Oak Grove Retirement Center.
Marie is survived by her children: Linda (Ron) Fischer of Naples, FL; Mary (Jim) Garrison of Wallace, NC; Susan (Dick) Tysen of Fishers, IN; Judy (John) Koehler of Indianapolis, IN; Nancy (Steve) Geolat of Eden Prairie, MN; John (Martha) Moberg of Wheatfield, IN; step-children: Sylvia (Don) Rowenhorst of St. Paul, MN; Barbara (Larry) Hoffman of Wheatfield, IN; (Corrie) Peterson of DeMotte, IN; Arthur (Sheryl) Peterson of Wheatfield, IN; 14 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Angeline Tyson, Lucille Moore, Charlene Molyneaux, and Carol Mahnke; numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, step-sons, Henry Peterson and John Peterson; step-granddaughter, Julie Ann Hoffman; brothers, Phillip Russo, Donald Russo, and John Russo.
