Bristol- Mrs. Marie Alice (Deziel) Milot, 102, formerly of Waterbury, died Thursday morning, March 12 at Ingraham Manor in Bristol after a short illness. She was the widow of Ernest Milot.
Mrs. Milot was born in St. Barnabe, Canada on April 4, 1906 daughter of the late John and Zenaida (Bellemare) Deziel. After graduating with a teaching degree in Canada she moved to the United States with her family. She was a communicant of the Shrine of St. Anne for over 70 years.
She worked for many years for Princeton Knitting Mills and later Hemingway and Bartlett in Watertown, where she retired from in 1971. She enjoyed reading, word games, playing cards, traveling and watching Red Sox games.
She will forever be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother, with a strong and gentle spirit. Her family considers themselves privileged and blessed to have called her “Mother”. She leaves a permanent handprint of her love and life in our memories, hearts and souls.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Milot and his wife Rolande of Waterbury and Rene Milot of Mattoon, Il; two daughters, Rita Marie Alvey and Lorraine DeLuca both of Bristol with whom she made her home; twelve grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter as well as several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 11 siblings.
The family would like to thank the nurse’s aides and the staff of Ingraham Manor in Bristol for the patient and loving care she received as a resident.
