Marie A. Cordeau McRae, 94, of Vincennes, passed away at the Gentle Care Health Center.
She was born March 4, 1919 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of Frank & Flora Hess Cordeau. She served as deputy Assessor for Knox County for over 22 years and she held membership in the Old Cathedral Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, 40 et 8 Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of St. John. She married William C. McRae on June 28, 1952 and they made their life together for 61 years.
She is survived by her husband, William C. McRae, her granddaughter, Linda M. Stearns of Salt Lake City, UT, a great-grandson, George Stearns of Salt Lake City, UT, her sisters, Helen Brittingham of Ormond Beach, FL and Alice Harper of Vincennes, IN. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Helderman, her parents, a brother, Francis J. “Joe” Cordeau, her sisters, Roberta L. Williams, Jeanie Dunt and Charlene Cox.
