Marie A. Lewis, 91, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday June 6, 2009 at Sugar Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield. She was born on April 3, 1918 in Tipton County, Indiana to the late Irvin Gross and Amy Hageman. Marie was a graduate of the McCordsville High School Class of 1936.
She retired from Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance & Accounting Center in 1981 after 28 years of service as a secretary. Marie was a member of Fortville Church of the Nazarene, where she received honors for years of service as a Sunday school teacher. Marie is survived by six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lewis; daughter, Rhonda Lewis; brothers, William Gross, Kenneth Gross, Shirley Gross and Peter Gross; sister, Frances Bush; and grandson, Steven Lewis.
