Marie Ann (nee Wienstroer) Jennetten, age 98, died on November 30th, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare in Peoria, Illinois. Formerly of Centralia, she was born in Lively Grove, Illinois, on October 17, 1917, the daughter of John Henry and Josephine (nee Behrman) Wienstroer.
She married Peter Jennetten on October 17, 1942, at St. Anthony’s Church in Lively Grove. He died November 15, 1949. Surviving are sons, John (Judi) Jennetten of Edwardsville; Robert (Sue) Jennetten of Peoria; daughter Donna (Charles) Pruemer of Bruceville,Texas; sisters Henrietta Kramper of Lively Grove and Betty Norrenberns of Mascoutah; and sisters-in-law Annette Wienstroer, Gloria Wienstroer of St. Louis, Missouri, Lorraine Wienstroer of Belleville and Edna Wienstroer of St. Libory. Marie is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Paul (Jennifer) Jennetten, Patrick (Tory) Jennetten, Peter (Jolie) Jennetten, Rob (Megan) Jennetten, Joseph Jennetten and Nathaniel (Alexandra) Jennetten, Amy (Ali) Brown, Sondra Johnson, Eric (Trudee) Pruemer, and Kevin (Jocelyn) Pruemer and 20 great-grandchildren: Gus, Leo, Hal, Abe, Jackson, Adeline, Amelia, and Henry Jennetten; Bella, Amor, Noble and Immanuel Brown; Will, Elizabeth, Julia, and John Jennetten; and Max, Scarlett, Anthony and Nicholas Pruemer.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, her parents John Henry and Josephine Wienstroer, sisters Elvira Behrmann and Irmalinda Lintker, brothers Norbert, Harry, Herbert, Joseph, Jerome and Alfred Wienstroer; and brothers-in-law Henry Kramper, Andrew Behrmann, Thomas Norrenberns and Raphael Lintker; and granddaughter Mary Pruemer and great grandson Jude Jennetten.Marie worked as a housekeeper for the Catholic parishes of St. Anthony’s Lively Grove and St. Lawrence Sandoval before becoming a dietary worker at Murray Children’s Center in Centralia for 18 years. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s parish in Centralia. She belonged to St. Mary’s Altar Sodality, the CD of A, and volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Mary’s Health Center.
