Marianne was born in New Haven, CT to Jean (Nixon) and Walter Cameron. She grew up in Milford, where she attended St. Mary’s and Milford High School. She was involved in many activities at MHS and was editor of the school newspaper. She graduated from Castleton State College.

After graduation, she joined UPS, where she worked until retiring in 2017. In the early years she worked in Bridgeport. She was active in St. Mary’s Guild and the Milford Jaycees, serving as Chapter president.

She transferred to Nashville in 1997. She became involved in the dog community; doing agility, rescuing, fostering, and dog-sitting. Her home was always open to dogs, their owners, and anyone who needed a helping hand. She was kind and generous; with her time, sense of humor, and love.

She made many good friends in Nashville; her co-workers, the “dog ladies,” her breast cancer support groups, and most of all her neighbors – whom she called “her family.”

Marianne was predeceased by her loving father. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, brothers Allan (Joan), Scott (Dorothy), David (Denise), and her “spiritual sister” Cate Loes (Eric). She also leaves nieces and nephews Allan, Sarah, Robert, Elizabeth, and her “spiritual family” Julia, Maggie, and Jack.

The family would like to thank Dr. Means, her staff and Kim, Sydney, Delaney, and the caregiver team at NHC of Cool Springs.
