Marian (Hart) Smith, 96, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus.
She was born December 10, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to the late Thomas G. and Ruth (Kenney) Hart.
After graduating from West Hartford High School Marian received her BS from Syracuse University in 1946.
On July 30, 1949, she married Ellison W. Smith in New London, CT. He preceded her in death earlier this month on February 7, 2021.
Marian worked for three years at Time Life in New York City.
She was a member of St. John’s Church, St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, the Art League, GLMA, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni and was a Walla Volunteer.
Surviving is a son, Anthony Smith of West Lafayette and two grandchildren.
Marian was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Smith, son, Peter W. Smith, a sister, Nancy Allison and a brother, Thomas G. Hart.
Marian will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, NY.
