Marian Louise Johnson Portee, 90, of Cantonment, FL and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, FL.
She was born May 13, 1919 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Ada Dixon.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Pierre (Maria) Portee of Winter Springs, FL; one daughter, Deborah Rochelle (Donald) Wills of Cantonment; four grandchildren, Dan Joseph Portee of Winter Park, FL, Dywane Mark Portee of Orlando, FL, Nicole Nichols of Nashville, TN, and David (Kenya) Wills of Stone Mountain, GA; former granddaughter-in-law, Chanda Portee of Winter Park; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Fr. Malcolm Portee.
Mrs. Portee was a 1937 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked as a psychiatric aide for the State Hospital in Jacksonville for many years, then was employed as a proof operator for Elliott State Bank until her retirement. She was a member of Living Work Community Church in Antioch, TN. She had a passion for sewing, especially making Barbie Doll clothes.
