Miriam E. Worton Meeson, 90
Tupper Lake – Miriam E. Worton Meeson, 90, of Tupper Lake died Monday, February 15, 2010, at Mercy Care in Tupper Lake after a long illness.
Born in Lebanon, PA, she was daughter of the late Walter J. Worton and Hazel Tilley Worton and wife of the late Thomas A. Meeson. She was raised in Watervliet, resided in Troy for 60 years and at Tupper Lake since 2002 and was a graduate of Watervliet High School.
Mrs. Meeson worked with her father in his company Troy Chain Company many years ago and later for many years at Lusco Paper Company in Troy as a bookkeeper retiring many years ago.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Watervliet and later North Reformed Church in Watervliet and attended First Baptist Church in Troy. She was a Girl Scout leader, taught Sunday school and made much of her own clothing.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Wendell) Smock of Glendale, AZ and Lynn Goldman of Tupper Lake; a sister, Marjorie (J. Leslie) Wortz of Troy; her grandchildren, Daniel Smock, Rebecca, Caitlin and Leigh Goldman and Lynaia Hoogewerf; her great grandchildren, Jonathan and Jocelyn Hoogewerf and her son-in-law, Gerald Goldman.
