Maria Victoria Vazquez, 94, formerly of 118 Clinton Ave., New Haven passed away on Sept. 7, 2013 in The Arden House. She was the widow of Evaristo Rodriguez Sr. Born in Puerto Rico on Nov. 2, 1918, she first came here in 1963, settling in Brooklyn, N.Y. She worked as a floor lady in the garment industry in New York City from 1963 to 1969. She has been a New Haven resident since 1971. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Evaristo “J.R.” and Obdulia Rodriguez of New Haven; a sister, Altagracia in Puerto Rico; 3 grandchildren, Vanessa (Ed), Yolanda & Evaristo III; and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Francisco & Manuel and three sisters, Consuelo, Ilda & Luz. The family would like to thank the staff at MaryWadeHome and The Arden House for their devoted care.
