HARLINGEN, TX. – Maria Del Socorro Valdez Rodriguez passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015. A native of Mexico but had lived in Houston for the past 6 years. She was a secretary with the state of Tamaulipas. She was a prayer warrior to everybody that she knew.She is preceded in death by her parents: Tirzo Valdez Lara and Maria Ester Hernandez Casarez. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Francisco Valdez, Maria Consuelo Garcia and Jose Angel C. Valdez.She is survived by her loving children: Robert L. Rodriguez (Monica), Edgar A. Rodriguez (Karen), Reynaldo Rodriguez and Alma V. Torres. She is also survived by her siblings: Maria Lucilla Garcia, Antonio Valdez (Aurora), Antonio Valdez (Carmela), Jaime Valdez (Alma), Jose Carlos Valdez and Jorge Luis Valdez. Nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Cremation to follow at Sacred Park Crematorium.
