Maria Stengle passed away on May 17, 2016, at the age of 63. She was born Maria Gianoulli in Chalkida, Evia, Greece, to Nikolaos and Eleni Gianoulli.
Maria spent all of her youth in Greece. Among other accomplishments, she excelled at swimming, achieving a regional championship and going so far as to be invited to the Olympic trials. In 1972, she married and, as a US Air Force wife, moved throughout Europe including Greece, Germany, and England, ultimately settling in the United States.
In 1992, Maria moved to Melbourne, FL, where she immediately settled in as an energetic member of the local Greek community. She was a presence none could resist with a personality none will forget. Maria worked for over 25 years in DECA and was active within St.
