Maria P. “Purita” Alaniz, age 88, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Valley Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1930 to Epimenio & Felicitas Escamilla Silva in Weslaco, Texas. She was the youngest and last survivor of seven.
She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory her loving and devoted husband of 62 years and 353 days, Rene Alaniz; her daughters, Thelma Montemayor (Robert) & Sylvia Guerrero (Richard); and her adoring grandchildren, Haydee Medrano (Tomas), Diego Guerrero, & Lorena Guerrero. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins & friends.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marina de Alejandro, Estela Garza, Francisco Silva, Bertha Silva, Jose Silva & Candelario Silva.
The Family would like to express their most sincere heartfelt gratitude to the Silva Family of Harlingen and to Irene Agado-Arismendez for your love, care and special attention you gave to our beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, cousin & friend.
