On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, Maria Lourdes Pina, 90, peacefully passed away with her loving family at her side at the Middlesex Hospital. Born in Portugal on September 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Manuel & Barbara (Ramos) Loureiro. She came to the United States in 1968 to raise her family and was employed by the Hotel Sonesta. Aside for her love of family, she had great devotion to Our Lord, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings and many relatives, and her beloved husband Mario Pina in 1991. She is survived by 5 children, Celestino Pina and his wife Gracinda of Berlin, Maria Grace Rizza and her husband Sal of Marlborough, Mary Gaspar and her husband Daniel of South Glastonbury, Carlos Pina and his wife Rosinda of Marlborough, and Joseph Pina and his wife Maria of Ellington, a niece, Cynthia Perneta of Enfield, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
