Maria Lourdes (Vazquez) Otero, 55, of Hanover Township, was surrounded by the love of her family when she peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Jose Otero, with whom she shared over 17 wonderful years together.
Born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, Maria was one of 14 children born to the late Luis and Laura (Lopez) Vazquez. She worked as an assembler for B. Braun Medical, Inc. for many years. She loved serving in her church, and being a grandmother. Maria will be lovingly remembered as being caring, nurturing, giving, and a whole lot of fun. She was a member of El Shaddai Bethlehem Ministries.
Survivors: loving husband Jose; daughter Tanya Maldonado and her husband Abraham of Allentown; daughter-in-law Katherine Geigel; grandchildren Hiram Juniel Geigel, Karieliz Rodriguez, and Adriel Rodriguez. Maria was predeceased by her son, Hiram Geigel, Jr.
