Maria Isabel Crocket, age 60, who grew up in Chevy Chase, MD passed away peacefully at Suburban Hospital on the 14th of February 2017.
In 2002 Isabel underwent a successful lung transplant. She was told to expect a 3-5 year survival. Beating all odds she lived more than 14 years. in the past 5 years, she struggled with multiple complications associated with living as a transplant recipient. Throughout this ordeal she never lost hope. Isabel always found a way to stay positive facing odds and obstacles most of us would crumble to. Facing these dismal prospects, she always found ways to be grateful for each and every day she was blessed with. Isabel was a great animal lover. She had special connections with all dogs and cats. They were drawn to her and her kind spirit. An avid bike mechanic she was always sought after for her special talents.
Isabel is survived by her brothers Thomas and Victor Crockett, sister-in-law Bette Crockett, nieces Sarah and Jeanna Crockett and many dear, lifelong and loving friends. She was predeceased by her loving mother Teresa and brother Arthur Crockett.
