Maria I. Cardenas, 83, entered the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Sun Valley Nursing Home in Harlingen, Texas surronded by her children.
Maria was born in Mexico on December 28, 1938 to Eugenio Ramirez & Matilde Suarez and lived a long and blessed life. She was the joy and sparkle of her family. Maria loved and adored her grandchildren and spending time with them. She enjoyed being outside gardening and tending to her plants. Maria loved wearing jewelry and definitely liked it to sparkle & bling. She also enjoyed the sweet fragrances of lovely perfumes. Our beautiful, wonderful, & loving, mother, grandmother, sister, & aunt will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Gabriel S. Ovalle “Bear or Oso”; her parents, Eugenio & Matilde S. Ramirez; and brothers, Genaro & Ramiro Ramirez, and son Miguel Cardenas Jr.
Maria leaves behind, her loving children and family to cherish her beautiful & wonderful memory: Bernie Gonzales (Jesse), Mary (Orlando) Castaneda, Rene (Martha) Cardenas, Raul Cardenas, and Felipe (Tommie) Cardenas; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Camarino Ramirez, Ubistane Ramirez, Eugenio Ramirez Jr., Alberto Ramirez, & Eliseo Ramirez; sisters, Guadalupe De Leon & Oralia Reyes; and numerous nieces & nephews.
