Maria Giovanna Rocco (nee Iacovitti) of Burlington, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Marcellas Center, Burlington, NJ. She was 87 years old. Born in San Paolo di Civitate, Foggia, Italy, Maria and her daughter lived in England for 11 years before they came to the United States in 1968.
She was a longtime resident of Burlington City. An avid seamstress all her life, Maria loved to sew and cook. She would make lasagna from scratch and always cooked enough to feed an army. She also greatly enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City to play the slots. She was preceded in death by her brother Ugo Iacovitti of Burlington, NJ.
She is survived by her daughter, Luigina Palma Hermansky of Beverly, NJ, her brothers Pasquale of Nottingham, England, Antonio and Giuseppe Iacovitti, both of Burlington, 2 grandchildren,1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews both in the United States and abroad.
