Maria de Jesus Soto, 85, Oxnard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her bed side.
She was born March 30, 1926 in Durango, Mexico and raised in Juarez, Mexico. She started her family in El Paso, Texas and moved to California. She started working for many years at Stokley’s then for Frozen Foods. She decided to retire and become a homemaker.
Maria was always thinking of others before herself. Her family was very important to her. She was loving, patient, understanding and enjoyed life.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus Felix Soto; five children, Jesus Humberto Palacios (wife, Carmen), Estela Rodriguez, Felix Soto, Maria Soto and Juan Soto; seven grandchildren, Veronica, Monica, Michael, Erika, Valerie, Salvador and Noemi; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing is planned for Thurs., Sept. 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m.
