Maria De Jesus C. Gonzalez, 70, entered the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.Maria was born on February 11, 1948 in Mercedes, Texas to Cruz Cavazos & Cohinta Torres. She was a retired teacher from H.C.I.S.D. where she was employed for 32 years, and taught at Crockett Elementary for 20+ years. Maria was well respected and loved by all. She was a loving & devoted wife, a mother who adored her sons, a grandmother that loved spending time with her grandchildren, and a wonderful sister & aunt.She is preceded in death by her husband, Julio Gonzalez Jr.; sister, San Juanita Rodriguez; and comadre, Ramona B. Gomez.Maria is survived by her loving family to cherish her wonderful memory sons, Omar Gonzalez & Julio Gonzalez III (Norma) ; special Goddaughter, Lizzette Esparza; and Bruno (Cristela) Gonzalez and Joe (Lisa) Gonzales whom she considered as sons, grandchildren, Omar Gonzalez Jr., Brianna & Ercilia Gonzalez; sister, Antonia Cavazos, and numerous nieces & nephews.
