Maria Conceicao (Cabral) Frias. 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12 at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Jose deSousa Frias. Together they raised a close and loving family. Her devotion to her family and her grandchildren was unparalleled. She would bring everyone together for Sunday dinners, paying close attention to what everyone liked. She was a person that gave freely of her love, her ear and her honesty. She was humble, yet regal, small in stature but strong, intelligent and progressive in thought. Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria Jose Cabral. Connie immigrated to the United States in 1965. She is survived by her children, Manuel Francisco Frias and his wife Laura of Bristol, Paul Frias and his wife Paula of Barrington, grandchildren, Joshua Frias, Sheila Burgess, Nicole Mello, Tess Oberg, Nelson DaLuz, Glenn DaLuz, Scott DaLuz and Colleen DaLuz, great grandchildren, Landon and Emarie Burgess, Mila Mello, Dylan, Lucybella, Magnus and Zane DaLuz. She was the Mother of the Late Rafaela (Jose) DaLuz, she was the sister of Gilda (William) Vieira, Diniz, (Mary Jose) Cabral, Madelina (Manuel) Pimental and Jose (Mary Lou) Cabral.
She attended school in Portugal. Maria, also known as Connie by her co-workers, was employed as an Inspector for American Tourister for over 30 years before retiring.
She was a lifelong communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in Bristol. Her faith was strong and steadfast even when life challenged her.
