Maria Cobarrubias Solis, 87, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered the house of our Lord peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Maria was born in La Feria, Texas to Maria and Antonio Cobarrubias on December 23, 1934. Maria graduated from La Feria High School in La Feria, Texas. In 1957 she married Jose Santiago (Jimmy) Solis, Sr. and shortly after moved to Harlingen where she remained with her family.
Maria was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as a bookkeeper for Solis Distributors for many years until Mr. Solis retired. Her greatest love was caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Maria had such a strong Catholic Faith in God and attended Our Lady of Assumption Church. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family sharing laughs and fun. She especially enjoyed her visits to Las Vegas with her husband and family.
Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Santiago (Jimmy)Solis, Sr., parents Maria and Antonio Cobarrubias, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Juan and Paulina Solis, brothers Silvestre Cobarrubias and Johnny Cobarrubias, brother-in-law Esequiel Solis, sister-in-law’s Delia Solis Valdez and Elva Bustamante, and granddaughter Annaliese Pauline Garcia.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her devoted and loving Children: Diana (Rick) Tamez, Delma (Jesse) Gallegos, Jim (Diana) Solis, Dina (JC) Casas, Lionel (Alicia) Solis, David (Mary) Solis, Michael (Cindy) Solis, 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sisters Sofia Puente, Lola Prado, and Irene Trevino, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Maria’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Marco Arañeda and staff, Dr. Luis Gonzalez and staff, WellMed, PAS Home Care, Nurses Omar and Amy, special caregivers Laura and Natalia for all their loving care and all her family and friends for their outpouring of respect and well wishes. A special thank you to Clarissa Sanchez for ministering the holy communion. Maria was a woman of great faith, love, and family.
