MARIA E. ARCIERO, 82, a resident of Hanover, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
Maria was born October 6, 1930 in Bisbee, Arizona to Candalario and Anita (Apodaca) Escobar. The family moved to Santa Rita until the expansion of the Santa Rita Open Pit. The family finally moved to Hanover where they were surrounded by the beautiful mountains. Maria married Miguel G. Arciero of Fierro, NM on October 3, 1948. They shared their beautiful home with their children as well as many neighborhood children and families that loved to spend the summer months running in their gorgeous yard filled with an abundance of fruit trees. Maria had a passion for working in the yard and bringing life to everything around her. She maintained the home and always took great care of her family with much love and compassion. She and her husband loved and cared for many foster children and were very charitable to everyone who needed help.
Mrs. Arciero is survived by her children; son Michael Bruce Arciero of Las Cruces; daughters, Melissa Arciero-Durr of El Paso, TX, Melinda Bejarano of Lordsburg, Marlina Arciero of Chandler, AZ, Vanessa Tejeda and husband Manny of Ruidoso and Ana Maria Arciero of El Paso, TX. Also surviving her are the wonderful grandchildren she held close to her heart, Jocelyn Renee Arciero, Gabriella Fabrae Arciero, Matthew Vincent Arciero-Durr, Malachi Victor Arciero, Michelle Hamada, Ian Delgado, Maegan Medina, Aaliyah Tejeda and Krystal Makayla Vigil.
Maria was preceded in death by her brother, Jesus Escobar, (who died as an infant), her father, Candelario Escobar, her mother, Anita Apodaca Escobar, her sister Josie Escobar and her husband, Miguel G. Arciero.
