On Monday, March 30, 2020, Maria Antoinette Klein, a loving wife and mother of three children, passed away peacefully at the age of 66.
Maria was born on August 6, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to Guy Anthony Esposito and Carmella “Nina” (Pieroni) Esposito.
She graduated in 1971 from Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL.
On, September 7, 1987, she married Donald Steven Klein. They raised two sons, Angelo Guy Ricci (Melanie) of Denver, Colorado, and Frank Ricci, of Casa Grande, Arizona, and a daughter Nicolle Alicia Bishop of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Maria had a passion and love for cooking for her family and friends. She was selflessly committed to making people happy.
Maria was an experienced buyer for a women’s clothing boutique, and bartender and server when she was younger. She also worked at the family Grocery store, Elgin’s Farmers Market, Elgin, Illinois as a cashier.
She affectionately loved and cherished her “Babies,” her six grandchildren, Nicolas Michael Ricci, Madison Elizabeth Ricci, Ezekiel Nicolas Bishop, Lucy Shay Madison Bishop, Ocean Marie Browning and Clayton Adam Clark, II.
As their Nana, she dotingly spoiled them any chance she could.
She would jokingly say every time, “Don’t tell Papa.”
She was known for her feisty, witty sense of humor, and her kindhearted and generous spirit.
Maria was preceded in death by her father Guy, her mother Carmella, and brother Tori Esposito.
She is survived by her husband, Don, their three children, Angelo, Frank, and Nicolle; her grandchildren Nicolas, Madison, Zeke, Lucy, Ocean, and Clayton II. She also leaves behind her faithful 10-year-old boxer, Jazzy, who never left her side.
She did this funny little quiz on Facebook a few weeks ago, and the results couldn’t be more accurate to describe her:
Strength ~ August
Maria has a fighting spirit. She’s stronger than you would
think because she’s faced more than you could ever imagine.
Despite everything she’s been through, she’s beautiful inside and out,
with a generous heart and a kind soul.
Maria is the sea – beautiful to watch, but dangerous to mess with.
She has a heart of gold, but it won’t end well if you anger her.
Love to all
