GRUNDMANN, Marguerite (Margie) (MeMere) E. Tinker

Marguerite (Margie) (MeMere) E. Tinker Grundmann, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on July 9, 2015 at the age of 97 years.  She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Lawrence C. Grundmann, Sr., her parents, William B. Tinker and Marguerite Sens Moreau Tinker, and by her sisters Marguerite B. Moreau, Modeste B. Moreau and Dorothy M. Flatley (James).

Margie is survived by her three children, Lawrence C. Grundmann, Jr. (Kathleen), Marguerite (Margot) G. Vosberg (Wilfred) and Susan G. Fortier (Frank), grandchildren Kathryn G. Giepert (Gary), Ann C. Grundmann, Wilfred J. Vosberg, III, L. David  Vosberg (Monica), Stacey V. Marsalone (Michael), Laura V.

She was a gentle, kind and generous lady, affectionately known to all as “MeMere”.  She was loved for her sense of humor and compassion.  Her degree in journalism from Tulane University began her lifelong love of learning which was passed down to her family.  Her passion for reading, crossword puzzles, word games and assisting children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their studies were among her favorite things. She was a volunteer at countless organizations including:  Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, St. Anthony of Padua, Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, St. Mary’s Dominican High School, Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Tulane Catholic Center.
