Peggy (Marguerite) Louise Cavalier, 85, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 in UPMC Shadyside. She was born February 12, 1928 in Detroit. Michigan a daughter of the late Louis and Mary Elizabeth Meneghin.
She was surrounded by her loving family, her daughters, Jamie and Martin of Sarasota, FL; and Christie and Jeffery of Scottsdale, AZ; Peggy is also survived by her two grandsons Eric Tait Oberg and wife Daria and their children Dylan and Rowan; Christopher Bran Oberg and daughter Kamber; her sister, Virginia M. Snyder and husband Richard; two nieces, Amy and Nan and husband Michael Emery; nephew, James Thomas and wife Rebecca.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband James F. “Bud” Cavalier and granddaughter, Kristen Kelly Siani.
Upon graduation from Greensburg High School, she received an art scholarship and worked at PPG Pittsburgh as their staff artist and later a free-lance interior designer. She has been a long standing member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She participated in art exhibits, had several “one-man shows” and won the King Meal, an award for the state of Pennsylvania and most of all just loved to paint! She was active in the Westmoreland Museum Art. Peggy loved her community and volunteered at Excela Westmoreland Hospital and Mutual Aid Ambulance. Most importantly, she loved her family and friends and all of the joy they brought to her life.
Private entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
