Margret P. Beaver, age 95, of Rensselaer passed away July 28, 2009 at the Rensselaer Care Center. A lifelong resident of Rensselaer, Margret was born October 1, 1913, the daughter of the late Myrtle A. (York) and Ray W. Parks. She was a 1931 graduate of Rensselaer High School and attended Purdue University. Her marriage to Charles Garrett Beaver, to whom she was married for 57 years, was in Rensselaer, Indiana on July 29, 1946. Charles passed away November 10, 2003. Primarily a homemaker, she worked as a sales clerk at both the Parks Variety and the Ben Franklin Store. Margret was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rensselaer where she had served as an Elder and was past president of the Women’s Association. Other community involvements include being a 78 year member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority Beta Upsilon Chapter of Rensselaer and American Legion Auxiliary Post #29. Margret will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend who very much enjoyed cooking and playing bridge. Margret is survived by her loving family, daughter Marjorie Robinson and son, Charles Garrett “Gary” Beaver, Jr, both of Rensselaer, eight grandchildren, Kelly Marie George, Katherine Margret (Don) Jordan, Charles W. “Chaz” Robinson, Stacie Mae Beaver, Melissa Jo Beaver, Joshua Howard Beaver, Ashley Margret Beaver and Charles Garrett Beaver III, and twelve great grandchildren. Along with her parents and her husband, Margret is preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Lee and Joe Howard Beaver and four sisters.
