Margot Irene (Engel) Baldomero of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away November 6, 2019, at the age of 80, surrounded by three of her four children. Born in Germany on June 4, 1939, to the late Oskar Engel and Ottilie (Sauer) Engel, Margot experienced at a tender age the trials and difficulties of a war-torn country. Her stories are both rich and harrowing as her family made their way across Germany until they settled near the Black Forest. As a young woman, she immigrated to the United States where she in time became a citizen.

Upon moving to Philadelphia, PA, Margot’s earlier years were filled with child-rearing activities. As her children grew older, she accepted positions as a purchasing agent for companies such as Philadelphia Tramrail and Overhead Crane. Even with the demands of a full-time work schedule, she kept her young family busy with trips from the Pocono Mountains to the Jersey shore, visits to the museums, walking the trails in Pennypack and Playwicky Park, and action-packed summers at the swim club. As her children grew, their trips spanned the entire east coast.

When she retired in 2004, she relocated to St Lucie County, FL. Margot enjoyed trips to visit her grown children who were now living all across the country and assisted two families during the birth of her five grandchildren. She took great joy in spending time with new friends and volunteering for the Heathcote Botanical Gardens. She was an avid boogie boarder with a love of surfing the waves. Even as life began to slow down, Margot continued to visit her favorite beach locations and ride her board, outpacing her contemporaries as well as her own grandchildren.

Margot will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her. She met challenges and transitions with fierce determination. Once she decided upon a particular course of action, Margot would not be distracted. She never missed acknowledging a major holiday or a birthday, sending a card with a little something extra. She provided a full life for her children, ensuring that her legacy will be carried on in their hearts and through their actions.

Margot is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Christel Schmid. She is survived by her children, Michael Carl, Sergio Figueiredo, Ricardo Rezende, Jeannine Patricia; grandchildren, Sydney, Michael, Brian, Elizabeth, Jenna; cousins, Anneli Broomer and Renata Sauer.
