Margo Carol Hill (nee Bengston), age 86, of Schererville, IN, formerly of Thornton, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep and entered eternal joy and rest on September 20, 2013. Born September 21, 1926 in Moline, IL, she was the daughter of Arvid and Myra (Monsen) Bengston. Margo married Robert Earl Hill, August 30, 1952. They raised four lovely daughters, the “Hill Girls,” who survive her. Margo was employed by Sears in River Oaks for 23 years in ladies” dresses, and enjoyed square dancing in her retirement.

She was a gifted seamstress and created bridesmaid dresses for two of her daughters” weddings. She was an excellent cook. She hosted many warm family gatherings, and treasured time spent with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margo was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in South Holland, IL. She is remembered for her kindness, encouragement, honesty, warm smile, and generous nature. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, July 20, 2009, her parents, and her granddaughter, Julia Hubbard.

Surviving are her daughters: Kathleen Hill, Barbara (David) DeYoung, Roberta (Brian) Hubbard, and Sandra Hill, and dear sister, Jeanne (James) Hartigan, II.

Surviving grandchildren are: Amanda (Mike) Fitterer, Karl (Sandra) Neavor, Karol (Steve) Hauch, Virginia (Dean) Konley, Ryan (Phoebe) DeYoung, Benjamin (Erin) DeYoung, Matthew (Ashley) DeYoung, Brendan (Jessica) Hubbard, Nolan (Bonnie) Hubbard, Colin (Tori) Hubbard, Jennifer (Rick) Barker, Katrina (Joe) Koltz, Clarice Hopman, Suzanne Hopman, Bethany Hopman, and Daniel Hopman.

Surviving great grandchildren are: Zachary Konley, Gabrielle Konley, Titus Konley, Levi Konley, Jakob DeYoung, Chloe Hubbard, Shaela Hubbard, Cole Hubbard, Camden Hubbard, Gavin Hubbard, Harper Hubbard, McKenzie Hubbard, Katie Hubbard, and Devany Barker.

Surviving nephew is James (Karen) Hartigan, III, and niece, Julie (Rich) Hartigan Scherzinger.
