Mrs. Bruton died Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in an Austin hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Bruton was born September 18, 1927 in Little Flock, the daughter of Rev. Lonzo Millous Lawson and Mona Adele (Bridges) Lawson. She married William Edward Bruton, June 10, 1949 in Salado. She was proud to be a wife, mother, and Mimi.
Mrs. Bruton was preceded in death by her husband William E. Bruton, grandson James Henry, brothers Doyle Lawson, Elton Lawson, David Lawson and Carroll Lawson, and sister Ruby Barrett.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bo Henry of Dripping Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Linda Bruton of Pampa, and Jerry and Laura Bruton of Dripping Springs; one brother C. L. Lawson and wife Marva of Little River; and sister-in-law Barbara Lawson of Wolfforth; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to her, but she was also an avid Houston Astros fan.
Margie Bruton was a faithful Christian woman who was a Bible scholar and taught various Sunday School classes for many decades. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Temple, Texas. She has most recently been studying the word of God with her Silver Saints Sunday School class at the First Baptist Church in Dripping Springs where she made many friends. She also enjoyed the lifelong friendships and meals that she received from the Friends Foundation in Dripping Springs.
