Margie Lou Sharp, June 1, 1932 – April 13, 2019.

Margie Lou (Taylor) Elkins Sharp, 86, of Moody passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Margie was born on June 1, 1932 in Van Zandt County, Texas to Millard and Geraldine (Garner) Taylor. She moved to Little River as a child and grew up in Little River. She graduated from Academy High School where she excelled at basketball. Margie married Jack Elkins in 1949 in Austin, Texas and they soon moved to Del Rio, Texas. Upon Jack’s passing in 1974, Margie and her family moved back to Belton.

She married Al Sharp in 1976 and they were married until he passed away in 2007. Mrs. Sharp was a full time mom, raising eight children, and she also worked at Southside Auto Auction in Belton for many years in the title department.

Margie was preceded in death by her first husband Jack, her husband Al, as well as a step son James Elkins, sisters Geneva Taylor, Jo Ann Taylor, Aleta White, and brother Millard Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra Cooper and her husband Calvin of Temple, daughter Jackie Murray and her husband Bud of Temple,son Larry Elkins of Moody, daughter Brenda Hill of Temple, daughter Patty Walker and her husband Gregg of Georgetown, daughter Joy Petty and her husband Roger of Belton, son Randy Elkins and his wife Cheryl of Blooming Grove, Texas, and son Jamie Elkins and his wife Kim of Belton. Also surviving are stepsons Jackie Glenn Elkins and Glen Walters, sisters Wanda Byers of North Carolina, and Janet O’Neal of Temple, and brother Jimmy Taylor of Corsicana, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
