Margery was born on April 22, 1923 to Hetty Hickson Stewart and Harley Otis Stewart in Williams, Arizona surrounded by the beauty of the Grand Canyon. She embraced her pioneer heritage, and exemplified leadership, tenacity, strength and grace throughout her life.
After being swept off her feet, she married her love, Joel Carson Dopson in 1943 in Westwood, California. They began their family while Carson faithfully served his country in World War II.
