He was born February 22, 1938 to Jose Almaguer and Margarita De La Garza Almaguer. Mago was a longtime truck driver in the trucking industry. He enjoyed music and played the accordion and drums. He was a boxer in his younger days.
Mago is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Maria Lina Almaguer, sons, Margarito Almaguer Jr. and Ruben Almaguer, his grandchildren whom he raised as his own, Clint Q. Almaguer and Jacklyn Almaguer, great-grandchildren, Elijah, Joseph, Jolee, Isaiah, Philip, Thomas and Jobanni, brothers, Chuco, Roy, Thomas, Mike, Ernie and Tony, sisters, Connie, Ageda, Marcy, Josie, Lupe and Linda. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
