Margarette Boyd, 96, died on March 20, 2022 in Tallahassee, Florida. Ms. Boyd was born on October 26, 1925 in Paintsville, Kentucky to General and Mintie Roberts Hitchcock. She lived in Tallahassee for 10 years, moving here from West Virginia.
After high school, she married Paul Wilford Boyd who pre-deceased her. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage prior to Paul’s death in December, 2017. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ham; two sons-in-laws, Dwayne Vass and Skip Lefler; and eleven siblings. Her survivors include her daughters, Paulette Weisberger (Michael) of Galloway, N. J., Gloria Vass of Beckley, W. Va. and Wilma Lefler of Tallahassee, Florida; her son, Larry Boyd of Galloway, N. J.; grandchildren, Sharon Weisberger, Elizabeth Williams, Sarah Fergurson, Julie Mastronardi (Daniel), Rebecca Keilor (John); 8 great grandchildren, Domenick, Jaden, Riley, Garrette, Gracen, Micha, Bethany and Madden. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred Daniels (Jim).
After several years of marriage and starting to raise a family, Ms. Boyd attended college in West Virginia. She was a very intelligent woman who was serious and could be stern at times. She was a very good cook and blessed with musical talent, playing the guitar, piano, banjo and the accordian. She enjoyed playing checkers where she was the champion, beating everyone who dared play with her. Ms. Boyd also had an artistic talent for pencil drawings. She was a minister who with her husband, conducted Bible studies, started a food bank and preached in tent revivals, always being willing to witness to others. She loved her grandchildren, but her first and primary love was her love for God. She truly was the hands and feet of Jesus as her life was spent helping others.
