Margaret Wasilewski, 95 of 2043 Chartres St. La Salle, died at 3:15 am September 14, 2015 in Aperion Care in Spring Valley.
Mrs. Wasilewski was born in Peru on February 10, 1920 to Stewart and Elizabeth Ewing. She married Leonard “Buck” Wasilewski Sr. on May 25, 1937. Mrs. Wasilewski worked as a waitress most of her life in the area. She and her husband operated Wasilewski’s Tap on 5th St. in La Salle. She retired to Florida in 1978 and then returned in 2007. She was an avid bingo player and loved to be with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Wasilewski is survived by five of her seven children; Leonard (Carol) Wasilewski of Peru, Kathleen (Charles) Clark of Florida, Dennis (Juliet) Wasilewski of La Salle, Randy Wasilewski of La Salle and Sue Zokal of La Salle; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Agnes Dehesus of Peru; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard “Buck” Wasilewski in 1988, two sons, William in 1999 and Gerald in 2002, five brothers and two sisters.
